Grow as a dancer
We provide regularly scheduled classes designed for total beginners to intermediates. Advanced courses are also occasionally offered.
To gain a strong foundation in blues aesthetic and movement, join our beginner-centric monthly class that occurs from 7–7:45pm on the last Tuesday of each month at Falcon Bowl in Riverwest. A vintage swing jazz band plays live music from 8–10pm. Both the lesson and band event are free to join, but tips for the band are highly encouraged to help keep the event going.
Once you feel comfortable with the basics and have started to work on idioms and more advanced self-styling, you are invited to join the intermediate lesson that occurs monthly at different residences of our dancer friends.
Monthly Beginner Lesson and Dance - Falcon Bowl
The last Tuesday of every month our crew does a beginner-style blues lesson from 7:00 to 7:45 PM before the weekly swing/blues dance at Falcon Bowl. This month is a bit more special as we will be using the whole ballroom space to teach another round of blues dancing idiom called Ballroomin’. This idiom is when the partnership travels around the dance floor instead of staying generally in place. We don’t frequently get the opportunity to use the whole space! Falcon Bowl is located at 801 East Clarke Street in Milwaukee. The dancing is from 8:00 to 10:00.

Basic blues dance lesson from 7:00 to 7:45 with a live swing band from 8:00 to 10:00. Blues DJ for band break. Free to join and tip the band to keep it going. Come other Tuesdays for a basic swing lesson at 7:00.
Blues Workshop
Ready to level-up your blues dancing? The award-winning Jenny Sowden is coming to Milwaukee. This is a workshop you won’t want to miss! 4 hours of instruction with a social dance to follow. More details about what will be taught coming soon!

Monthly Blues Social
Join us for the monthly social, held at The Uptowner in Riverwest (1032 East Center Street, Milwaukee). We’ll have a basic blues dance lesson at 8:00 PM, followed by a few hours of DJ’d blues music and dancing. This month, the social is directly after the very popular Riverwest street festival, Center Street Daze. Come at 8:00 for a lesson and insanely good blues music and chill dancing.

July Blues Dancing Social
Join us for our monthly blues dance—this time held at the iconic Uptowner bar in Riverwest.
This monthly social is Milwaukee's only authentic blues dancing event. Whether you come to join, watch, or just vibe to the blues music, we welcome you! Join at 8pm for the free blues dancing lesson before the music starts.
